Anastasia Grebnova is an artist and a yoga teacher. She creates art to awaken the sense of belonging and connection in people. Through her paintings, she offers a safe space for introspection and dreaming.
Anastasia grew up in Belarus where she studied creative writing, poetry and classical guitar. In 1998, she published her first book and began painting with watercolors, inspired by the art of Nicholas Roerich.
Once in the United States, Anastasia started participating in the East Austin Studio Tour. She travelled to Omega Institute to study with Alex Grey, a renowned visionary artist. She received yoga/creative arts certification from Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. Her art journey took her to Florence and London where she apprenticed with Brigid Marlin, the founder of the Society of the Art for Imagination. Anastasia's paintings are the visual evolution of the many journeys she has taken over the years. Her work can be found in private collections all around the world.
Artist Statement
Hello and Welcome! In my recent work I explore the theme of environment as inspiration. This collection is a culmination of travel experiences expressed in abstract form. I use bold color, lines and simple shapes to evoke the state of emotional harmony and longing for new places. My work is influenced by hiking trips to California, swimming adventures in Hawaii, and long visits to Italy and France. I paint mostly in oils and use a combination of brushes and palette knife. Each painting is a short meditation, approached intuitively to seek and find connection with distant places in the present moment in time. This website contains some of my recent personal and commissioned work. All images are copyright protected and cannot be reproduced without the written permission.
