A pre-recorded tour of my process: from planning to finished product and will be showing some new pieces (landscape paintings) available for purchase.
I graduated from Penn State University with a BA in Art in 2000 and proceeded to paint while raising three boys and getting a masters in Counseling. I'm currently a couples and trauma therapist and my passion is landscape painting. I love the interaction of color and shape. My work is focused on West Texas and Colorado (Two of my most favorite places). I fell in love with Aspen during My time at Anderson Ranch, studying color and painting with golden acrylics, during the eclipse a few years ago. I made the switch from oil to acrylic and I'm also working in watercolor and gouache.
Artist Statement
My life has been full of ups and downs, but one thing that has remained constant is my love of painting. In Norway they have a concept called "friluftsliv" which means "open air living" and this captures the way I wish I could spend most of my days, outdoors. I love to hike, cycle, ski, camp, and walk outside. My days of rock climbIng are over, post back surgery, but, you will never hear me say no to an outdoor adventure. Landscape painting is the way I express the essence of my love for the outdoors. West Texas and Colorado in particular have captured my heart for the moment.
