Artist Statement
Molly's paintings deal with the feminine and the grotesque,
the loss of connection to the things we consume, how the things we consume relate to the body,
specifically the female body —
sexual connotation of fruits, to the literal relationship between female body parts and female garments.
Molly's paintings deal with her interior struggles to be.
— the oppression of conventional gender roles, the shame of breaking free from those norms, guilt associated.
To deal with this Molly works on her physical strengths, wanting to combat these haunting feelings head on with pure brute force and unabashed attempt at self-mastery.
