About the Artist

I've been a craftsman all of my adult life, but my profession was rooted in engineering. A native Austinite, I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a mechanical engineering degree. While in school, I worked the afternoons and weekends as a layout designer at my father's commercial art business, Kelleygraphics. After graduation, I joined Tracor, Inc., one of the first significant tech businesses in Austin that later became a part of BAE Systems. I worked in a variety of roles on aerospace and defense projects throughout my 35-year career there. Most recently, I led BAE's night vision product business. I retired in 2019 to pursue my dream for Tactile Innovations, where I could combine my passion for art and engineering to create functional architectural art pieces and develop other innovative products.

Artist Statement

My creations are the product of a rocket scientist/engineer turned

inventor/artist focused on functional architectural elements

constructed of steel, bronze, aluminum, art glass and concrete to

yield both a visual and tactile emotional response. My objective is to

design and build unique products that work, feel and look amazing.
