Jane Goosby was born in Victoria, Texas. And raised in Houston, Texas. She lived in Austin 30 years and in Georgetown for 10 years where presently resides. My most recent body of work has been focused on Abstracts. The work integrates unique imagery of human forms into dream like contexts.
This work transcends any specific style of work and emerges organically. My work combines various mediums including pastel, acrylic, oil and pigment pen. This work integrates unique imagery of the human forms integrated into dream like contexts. I visualize images within the background before painting and these images begin to emerge through the painting process on the canvas. These are forms and figures that are part of the visual imagery communicating the mini vignettes of relationships throughout my work.
My work represents ties between people and relationships that people have to each other. These pieces represent the diversity of human relationships between friends, lovers, and family. Some of my pieces represent struggles of the relationships as well as playfulness of these experiences.
The love of creating a genre that appeals to the viewer is my passion. What I interpret in my work can be totally different than what the viewer sees. My goal is for the viewer to enjoy the painting. The viewer is allowed and also encouraged to find meaning or feeling that my paintings are just enjoyment. The paintings have situations that evoke a storyline. And I think my artwork re-presents life.
The goal of becoming a part of this exhibition is to show my best and sharing my innovative works demonstrating the moving and emotional themes. I would like to bring a fresh new genre, that would appeal to viewers.
