About the Artist

I'm a visual and graphic artist creating decorative art and jewelry using a range of new and repurposed materials, photography, and traditional media. I often integrate beads and other objects into my acrylic abstract paintings. I enjoy seeing the often-surprising interplay of the different elements.

As a graphic artist, I'm always recording whatever is happening around me. I look for special moments on video or still images and use electronic media to digitally enhance them into something special including overlaying images of flowers or other objects over photos of my paintings.

I studied architecture and interior design at the University of Texas before changing majors and universities to study art. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Texas State University (formerly SWTSU).

I am also Associate Director at Art84.org which promotes the enjoyment and collection of original art to help make Austin an original art destination. Art 84 hosts individual artists and collectives of various styles and media, along with live Dance + Music + Art events.

In addition, I am the Creative Director at Technology Futures, Inc., a research and consulting firm in Austin Texas.

Artist Statement

I'm a visual and graphic artist designing art and jewelry utilizing a range of new and repurposed materials, photography, and traditional media. I'm always looking for new ideas and inspiration, much of which I gain from my creative family and friends!

Much of my focus over the past few years has been incorporating upcycled materials and beads onto my acrylic paintings. I enjoy seeing the interplay of the different elements. During the 2020 pandemic, I've also created quite a bit of beaded and bended wire jewelry using new and repurposed materials.

I also help with Art84.org, which promotes the enjoyment and collection of original art plus live Dance + Music + Art events.
