Prior to founding Trophyology, Eva worked as a licensed architect for over a decade. Her love and appreciation for thoughtful and elegant design translated naturally from her architecture career to her journey as an entrepreneur with Trophyology. A German native, Eva is continuously inspired by the rich design traditions of her European heritage. In addition, her travels to Japan further evolved her design philosophy and interest in Japanese design principles emphasizing grace, tranquility, usefulness, and the natural state of materials.
"As a designer, I see such a wonderful opportunity in this work to not only create beautiful objects, but objects that carry deep meaning and heartfelt sentiments. I love thinking about how to express honor, dedication, and excellence in material form. Seeing the pride with which our awards are given and received is special and fulfilling to me. The responses we receive from our clients and their honorees are incredible and keep us inspired to bring more great and thoughtful design to this industry that has been neglected for far too long.
At Trophyology, we are passionate about elevating acts of gratitude and appreciation to a form of art. We believe in the power of recognition and we're here to give it the attention it deserves by leading the conversation on what it means to recognize well and to honor excellence in style.
Since its founding in 2011, Trophyology has established itself as a trailblazer and thought leader in an industry ripe for innovation. Observing a plethora of unattractive, standardized, and predictable offerings that resulted in an air of embarrassment around traditional recognition awards, founder Eva Schone set out to change the status quo by creating architect-designed and artisan-crafted recognition awards that are worth giving and worth keeping. After all, why reward a job well done with a trophy that's not?
