Drawing and textile design at UT would years later lead me to create my home based 'cottage industry'. PAINTED PAPERS was born out of necessity but has continued because of it's fan base. Hand-painting and marketing sheets of paper since 1989 while a stay at home mom combined with discovery of Big Medium has opened the door to expand the love of my unique papers to a broader art reach.
The daughter of a fine seamstress and home designer, with a grandmother who would do anything while adorned in costume jewelry, and a great grandmother who taught me to quilt when I was a 9 year old child, I have long been inspired to pay tribute to their labors. My current works are a tribute to them. "Nine Patch-a tribute to Lucy Baker", pays homage to her and the quilt pattern taught to all young girls as their first project.
